editing, thanks for all the help!

bump…

really need some feedback

It’s not horrible but I’d check on the title of the citations. Is it really unknowingly driving with no licenses or are you trying to play it down? I also doubt the title is no driver’s license.

Edit: I should add, I think this could definitely affect your cycle. While a lot of charges won’t, these are recent and you showed your inability to follow even basic rules of the court. I mean, you violated your probation 4 months ago!

Yes the titles are correct, looking at the official court records right now.

First is “unknowingly driving with a suspended license” the reason that it is “unknowingly” is that the court ordered suspension had already been lifted when I got pulled over, but there was an administrative fee that I had to pay before the actual department of motor vehicles would reinstate it. I honestly did think my license was good because I was only told about the court ordered suspension.

The second was “No valid driver’s license” this charge was part of a deal, the prosecution dropped it from a “driving with a suspended license” to a “No valid driver’s license”

Also, as to your edit, that is my biggest concern, the timing of it all. The DUI and “unknowingly driving” charges occurred almost 3 years ago, but like you said, the most recent charge was four months ago. How much do you think it would affect it? Do you think I’m out of the running for T20? T30?

Are you saying that sentence you eliminated should just be inferred? What is the drawback of putting it, that I am somehow suggesting that there is a chance that there are other to blame?

Thanks

Last bump, applying tonight!!! any last minute suggestions?!?

This made me feel for you, I hope the adcomms do too.

Good luck!

You do a good job of not making any excuses and accepting full responsibility. Although, I would change the following…

I fully accept all responsibility for my actions; I own them and do not cast blame on any one but myself. The series of events I have listed above represent the lowest points of my life. > I had never been in trouble with the law and I now find myself having to convince an admissions board to try to see past my indiscretions. I want the admissions board to understand that these decisions do not accurately represent me as a person. They are huge mistakes that again I fully own up to, but they are exceptions.

  1. No need to tell them you had never been in trouble with the law - if you had, you’d be disclosing it.

  2. The admissions board understands what you are trying to do with this addendum; no need to tell them what you want them to understand.

Good luck.

It’s not inferred, it is explicitly stated in the prior sentence. And yes, to repeat that you are taking full responsibility by adding that you do not hold anyone else responsible, does imply that you hold someone else at least partially responsible.

Just pull the band-aid off and hope for the best. All the explanation makes the reader evaluate and judge. IMO, just keep it clean and neat. Do not give them the opportunity to assign additional negative characteristics to you.

Didn’t op lose his deferred prosecution and was adjudicated as guilty? I think OP is spinning this the beat he can- but driving twice under a suspended license after a DUI is a problem. Violating parole doesn’t look good either and it was just a few months ago. This shows a pattern of messing up, even if OP minimizes it.
I don’t know what else OP can do but be forthcoming and hope for the best. If his cycle is hurt by this, he should work for a few years and try again.
